Where the River Flows

Rivers contain life-giving elements, and wherever they flow, plant and animal life thrive. Interestingly, the Bible likens God’s love to a river of life. Phyllis Harper Isenhart know rivers, and she also knows God’s love. 

As a child, Phyllis grew up on the banks of the mighty Bay River in eastern North Carolina. She swam in its cooling waters and ate of its bounty. During that same period, as the daughter of a pastor, she knew and appreciated God’s love. Then, like many teenagers, when she was on her own, Phyllis wandered from the river of life for some ten years. Thankfully, through her children and their love of Sunday school, she returned to those life-giving waters and has found God’s river to be an anchor for her soul in times of difficulty. This is her compelling story.
