The meaning of the word gospel is “good news.” To me, if the Gospel isn’t Good News, then I don’t want it. If the Good News comes at a price, it’s still good news as opposed to something that isn’t available to me. Good News brings hope. Good News lifts me into the realm of possibilities. Good News expands my limits and introduces options I didn’t have before. Good News isn’t always happy or to my liking. It can be like “the worst terrorist in the world driving off a cliff in my new car.” Good News is news that is in my best interest. In a nutshell, our view of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is like the love of a parent for a child from the child’s point of view. This is my point of view. – Tom Long
