Jan Newell-Byrd, best selling author of Testimony of a Kept Woman, is an ordained minister, retired educator, inspirational speaker, and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She has three adult children and four grandchildren. She presently resides in Greenville, North Carolina. Having suffered domestic abuse for more than forty-two years, Jan is a an expert witness to this scourge that affects so many. She refused to allow this experience to make her a bitter and angry victim. Instead, she became an overcomer and gained the victory.
